Gen. James Amos purchases the Shelby County Democrat in West Central Ohio.

1891
The Shelby Democrat becomes the Sidney Daily News.

1893
Company expands into commercial printing and becomes known as Sidney Printing and Publishing Company.

1942
Sidney Printing and Publishing Company begins printing Linn’s Weekly Stamp News for founder and publisher George W. Linn.

1960
Oliver Amos develops and publishes Coin World, a weekly tabloid publication serving the coin-collecting hobby.

1965
Amos Press purchases Linn’s Stamp News.

1966
Publication Gun Week is started under the same format as Linn’s Stamp News and Coin World as newsprint tabloid.
1974
Due to the company’s growth and expansion the company moves into a new larger facility on Vandemark Road in Sidney, Ohio that remains company’s headquarters, in Sidney Ohio.

1978
The automotive magazine Cars & Parts is purchased.

1979
Interest in Gun Week is sold.

1984
Amos Publishing becomes the world’s largest philatelic publisher with the purchase of Scott Publishing Company.
Becomes publisher and distributor of the world famous Scott Standard Postage Stamp Catalogue.


1994
Launches the magazine MoneyCard Collector.
Magazine dedicated to developing a collector market for telephone and other prepaid cards.


1995-1996
Company’s headquarters undergo extensive renovation to meet expanding business and technologic needs.

2003
Automotive publishing expands with development and acquisition of four titles, Corvette Enthusiast, Musclecar Enthusiast, Mustang Enthusiast and Pontiac Enthusiast. Due to expansion in automotive titles company opens satellite office in Lakeland, Florida.

2003
Coin World’s Coin Values is introduced to broaden appeal to casual collectors on newsstands.

2005
Magazine Paper Money Values is created.

2006
Amos Publishing purchases five craft magazines from Clapper Communications in Des Plaines, Illinois.
Titles are Crafts’ N Things, The Cross Stitcher, Pack-o-Fun, Paper Made Easy and Painting.
